Homemade braided bread recipe – How to make tri-colored bread
We have always liked the look of two toned or multicolored rainbow breads.Therefore, we are offering you to be more adventurous with the homemade bread recipes and to try making this delicious tri-colored bread.
Braided tri-colored bread recipe
Wheat flour 960g
Active dry yeast 15 g
1.5 tsp sea salt
Vegetable oil 60 ml
Sweet red pepper (paprika) ½ pc.
1 tsp red pepper
Butternut squash 350 g
Poppy seeds 5 g
5 g of sesame
½ tsp cumin
For the green braid you need to mix the spinach in a blender with small amount of water (about 100 ml) and oil. Then add the puree to the sifted flour with yeast and salt. Knead the dough and leave to rise in a warm place for an hour.
For the red dough blend blanched paprika with water (about 120 ml) and add it to sifted flour with yeast, salt, red pepper. Leave in a warm place for an hour.
For yellow bread – mashed baked pumpkin with water (50-70 ml), pour it in the sifted flour with the yeast and salt. Also leave the doigh to rise for an hour .
Take pieces of dough in different colors and roll them on floured surface.
Connect the upper ends of the pieces and put them in a loose braid. Secure the ends.
Cover the bread with a towel and leave in a warm place for 20-30 minutes. Then moisten the top with water and sprinkle diffrent type of seeds over each colour.
Bake in a preheated 220 degree oven for 30-35 minutes. Let cool on a wire rack and decorate your table!
