How to Make a DIY Shark Valentine Box in 20 Minutes

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and if you have a child in elementary school, chances are they will need a Valentine’s box for their class party. But why settle for a boring, store-bought box when you can make a fun and unique DIY Shark Valentine Box in just 20 minutes?

I recently came across a TikTok video by @morganstorey10 that showed how to make this adorable shark box, and I just had to share it with you all.

@morganstorey10 Super easy Shark Valentine’s Box! It took us 20 minutes from start to finish, and we already had all of the supplies except for the foam sheet for the tail and fins 🦈🦈 #valentinesday #valentinesbox #cardbox #sharkvalentines #boysvalentinesdaybox #valentines2023 ♬ Cool Kids (our sped up version) – Echosmith

So, let’s dive into the steps and materials needed to make your own awesome Valentine’s box.

Materials:
– A shoebox or cereal box
– Blue and white construction paper
– Blue craft foam
– Scissors
– Glue
– Black marker
– Googly eyes (optional)

Step 1: Cover the Box
Using blue construction paper, cover the entire box, including the lid. You can use glue or tape to secure the paper in place. This will be the body of the shark.

Step 2: Cutting the Mouth
To create the shark’s mouth, form a triangular shape on opposite sides, ensuring symmetry with the aid of a ruler. Leave approximately 1/2 inch at the top and bottom of the box.

Step 3: Make the Shark’s Teeth
Take your white construction paper and cut out a row of sharp teeth. Glue them onto the inside of the mouth of the shark. This will give it a fierce look.

Step 4: Add the Eyes
Using black and white cardstock, cut out two circles for the eyes. You can also use googly eyes if you have them. Glue them onto the front of the box, above the mouth. Make sure the shark fin and eyes are securely glued to the box so that they do not fall off.

Step 5: Finishing Touches
To make the shark’s fin, cut out a triangle from the blue construction paper and glue it onto the top of the box. You can also use markers to draw on gills or other details to make your shark box even more realistic.

And there you have it, in just 20 minutes, you have a super cool and unique DIY Shark Valentine Box that your child will love. It’s perfect for collecting all of their Valentine’s cards and treats from their classmates.
